O, foldedspace readers, behold: Liquid Gold!

[three bags of chantico mix]

It’s true. Two kind and crafty readers of this weblog (who shall remain nameless) heard my cries of woe when Starbucks stopped serving chantico and, can you believe it, mailed me three bags of chantico mix. Three bags! I think maybe now I know what to do for my birthday: throw a chantico party.

Thank you, A. and J.! This is a wonderful gift. I aprpeciate this more than you know.

Does the extension of the shelf life bother you in the least?

More importantly, can you drink 3 liters of that stuff by 4/10?

oh yeah, I’m not really a fan of the google ads? Maybe a sidebar instead? Maybe removal? How much money do they generate?

It does seem a little odd, but the original date is a “best before” date, anyhow. I’m not convinced this is the sort of stuff that’s going to go bad. It’s essentially high-end cocoa-powder, I think. We’ve frozen two bags just to be safe.

    Re: drinking it all

No, I cannot drink all of this in a month. Thus the proposed chantico birthday party. 🙂

    Re: google ads

I’m not a huge fan, either. They’re an experiment, and they’re only on the individual archive pages for now. A sidebar is a possibility. They may go away. I have no idea how much revenue they’ll generate. They’ ve only been up for twelve hours, and have generated $1.73. Trust me: there’s a major weblog entry in the works for early next week re: the google ads, the reason behind them, and all the other secrety weblog stuff I’ve been doing late. (Hint.)

Here is an excellent google ad…

    🙂

Do you get to pick which ads go on an archive page, or are they automatically generated based on an entry’s topic?

YOU ARE WELCOME. i THINK THAT THE EXPIRED DATES ARE JUST FOR STARBUCKS. THEY ONLY USE THE FRESHEST PRODUCT. ONCE IT IS PAST THE FRESHNESS DATE, THEY WON’T SELL IT, EVEN BAGS OF COFFEE. NOT EVEN AT A DISCOUNT. THEY SEND IT BACK TO CORPORATE WHO UNLOADS IT TO SOMEOTHER COFFEE PACKAGER, NO DOUBT. EVEN THE BREWED COFFEE IN THE STORE IS, THEORETICALLY, DUMPED EVERY HOUR. IN MY STARBUCKS, THEY ADHERE TO THIS SO THERE IS NEVER “OLD” COFFEE. CALL A. IF YOU NEED SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO “BREW” WITHOUT AN ESPRESSO MACHINE OR STEAMER.
